The Texas Association of Builders (TAB) Excellence under 45 Awards program is dedicated to highlighting and rewarding young professionals that have committed their time, efforts and careers to the Texas building industry. The program is designed to acknowledge their hard work and successes, reward their performance and dedication and showcase them as future leaders of the industry across our state.

As an award recipient, the program provides industry education and networking for professional growth in the residential building industry, and helps program participants become better, more knowledgeable, more productive employees.

To be considered for the Excellence under 45 Awards program:

• An application must be fully completed and submitted - application contains two short, straight forward portions: basic professional information and a short-answer written essay or YouTube submission.
• Applications must be submitted by Friday, May 7, 2021.
• Applications must meet the below guidelines.

Excellence under 45 Awards program Guidelines:

• Nominations can be submitted by the nominee, a supervisor, a colleague, a local home builders association, etc.
• Nominees must be an active member of the Texas Association of Builders or employed by one.
• Nominees must be between the ages of 21 and 45 to be selected.
• No more than one company nominee may be chosen in a given year as a recipient of the Excellence under 45 awards program.
• Previous award winners must wait two years after winning the award before re-submitting for the award.
• The number of award recipients will be determined at the time of judging per the quality and scope of applications.
• A panel of industry professionals will review applications and essays and/or YouTube submissions.
• The judges panel shall consist of a mix of industry professionals: associate, remodeler and builder members; seasoned and young members. 
• If a TAB Young Professionals Council member chooses to enter the Excellence under 45 Awards, he/she cannot serve on the judges panel.
• Winners will be notified by the end of June via email from TAB.
• Award winners will receive one complimentary night stay at the Gaylord Texan but are responsible for their own transportation and any incidental costs accrued, including additional in-room costs and charges.
• Winners must attend scheduled and recommended events, provided by TAB.
• Headshots and video submissions of winners will be used for publicity prior to and following the event. 

Required Materials

1. Filling out the nominee application containing:
   • Contact information
   • Work experience
   • Extra-curricular activities
   • Letter(s) of recommendation (optional)
   • Documents of accomplishments (optional)
   • One (1) High Quality, four-color photo (head and shoulders only) of nominee in business attire (.jpg;pdf;tif;)
2. Answer three of four questions of your choice below. You may write them in or complete them via video.  Please start your short video stating your name, employer and nominator. Be creative and have fun with it!
   • What influenced you to pursue a profession within the building industry?
   • What is your proudest accomplishment to this day?
   • What do you hope to take away from the Sunbelt Builders Show and the Excellence under 45 Awards Program?
   • As a future building industry leader, what area/s do you deem necessary for future success in this competitive market?
3. Submitter's Contact and Business Information

Selected applicants will receive:

• One complimentary registration to the Sunbelt Builders Show™ in Dallas, Texas on July 13-16, 2021
• One night lodging at the Hilton Anatole (Wednesday, July 14)
  Two tickets to the Builders' Bash (Wednesday, July 14)
• Two tickets to the 2021 Star Awards Presentation and Cocktail Party (Thursday, July 15)
• Honorees will be recognized in various ways:  
  • YP webpage on TAB Website
  • Name/Company listing in an issue of Texas Builder magazine
  • Name/Company listing in Sunbelt Show Guide
  • Presented the award at the beginning of the Star Awards program

March 31 – Will open the Call of Entries
May 7 – Will close entries
Mid-May – Judges will begin the selection process
Beginning of June– Recipients will be notified by email
July 13-16 – Sunbelt Builders Show™
July 14 – Builders' Bash
July 15 – Star Awards and Excellence under 45 Awards Presentation
