Members of the residential construction industry are well aware of the shortage of skilled workers in Texas and the U.S. but may not know how they can help solve this problem. This session will provide you with information on how builders and their trades can work with school counselors, administrators and students to make them aware of the great training and career opportunities are that are available to future residential construction professionals. The pieces are in place for anyone who wants to be a part of this effort to educate Texans on our industry. TAB and the local HBAs have developed partnerships with community colleges, Texas State Technical College and Habitat for Humanity to name a few, and you can help expand this network of industry partners. From HBI’s curriculum to materials that are available at TexasBuilders.org, Ed and Ron will talk with you about the resources that are in place, and how you can easily become a part of this group effort to help solve our workforce issues.
